When you walk in to our tasting room, it is
hard to miss the happy, shiny-headed bald guy
behind the bar.
That's Kev. You may know him
as a wicked snowboarder, a crazy lead singer
or a shrewd business man, but do you really
know Keven? This is our attempt to bring
all of his "people" a little closer
to understanding the man behind the legend.
His Bio
Keven was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA.
His extensive family (uncles, cousins, etc.) all
lived in Santa Monica as well, and his great
grandfather was one of the founding fathers of
the city. He was a legacy student at Santa Monica
High School, following in the footsteps of his father and
grandfather. Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Holly
Robinson, Dean Cain, Sean Penn and Rob Lowe all went
to his school as well. His Dad was a football coach
and he spent his youth involved in sports of all
kinds (including surfing), but his passion was
skateboarding. Of the 70-some skate parks around his
home turf, Keven was a member of thirty-five.
After high school Keven went to college to study
architecture, but left a few credits away from finishing
his degree because a passionate, rumbling fever was
burning inside of him. The skateboarder of youth was
morphing into a SNOWBOARDER!
His destiny was calling
to him. It was calling him to run to the hills, open
a snowboard shop and find his beautiful wife, Heidi.
In late 1995 Keven, a pregnant Heidi and their son Max
found their way north to Whitefish and we nabbed him in
early 1996. Things around here have never been quite
the same.
You Always wanted to know about his...
First Beer:
"I was thirteen. My mom dropped me and my friends off at Open
Gym while she went to the Laundromat. I had this big friend named Linden who
was this huge, giant guy with facial hair and big muscles. He was a mammoth.
He could buy beer, so we had him buy us each a quart of Old English 800. We
sat in the shadows of the gym for three hours and drank ourselves silly. Before
she came to get us, I ran to the store and bought some gum. I threw about sixteen
pieces of gum in my mouth to cover up the smell so she wouldn't
know."
First Kiss:
"I was in fifth grade and her name was Wendy. She
went to the school across town. We went to see 'Towering Inferno'
(which I had already seen about fifteen times) and we kissed the
whole time. She tongued me!!"
